TOGETHER LIVED

TOGETHER WE HAVE LIVED By Chikwado the blind poet

Together we have lived,
In the deepest ocean of love,
From the earliest hours of ages,
We started the journey in dove,
Oh! What sweet friends indeed?

When my darkest day comes,
With distress and pain,
I hold on to nothing, my friend was all my hope,
With his hand, happiness shall come my way, I comforted!

As I hope on my friend for a lift,
To him I stretched my hands for help,
To perform his duty of love,
Behold, I got nothing but betrayal
Rejection, hatred surrounded me,
In my oblivion, yet I raised my voice,
In the crowd, but none showed up!
My heart cried out for genuine Love,
From a Samaritan brother,
As my heart detests a stranger,
Masking as a friend in glove.

Trust, trust, echoed my spirit,
My neighbors are callous,
My friend turned deaf ears to my cry,
My maker, a spirit friend
Consoled me, wiped my tears, healed and restored my hope,
A sudden smile flashed, hovering my face,
In the pool of tears, I praised Him!

Trust not a man who brags love,
Who promised you heavens but chips away?
In the days of pains and troubles.
Give no attention to a woman,
Who smiles when your purse blinks green?
Who frowns when your hands are weak?
Who flees when the cash ceases to flow down her greedy throat!

Love is real,
Depend not on human for it.
Humanity is love,
Love is a gift of nature,
Love is free – no condition attached,
Bargain not for it, love is Priceless!
